The Prophet (Peace and blessings be upon him) was asked “Who is the best of people?” He replied… “The one who is most beneficial to others.”
As a charity, AFECC values the excellent work of its volunteers but we are always on the lookout for more people who can help us become more productive. We have a wide range of projects which volunteers can participate in such as the Food Bank, Mothers and Toddlers or Women’s Coffee Morning.
Every project team require a variety of skill sets and experiences to ensure each programme runs as smoothly as possible and that every team member brings something different to the organisation.
A typical volunteer works in a given role with set or varied hours. This depends on what is required as part of the position and on how many hours an individual can offer. For AFECC, intention and being committed are the most important aspects.
There are many benefits to volunteering at AFECC including:
- Develop new and existing skills

At AFECC we aim to support and develop our volunteers who serve the community so well. This is done in many ways including:
- Personal Development Plans
We encourage our volunteers to take an active role in the development of the organisation. This is done through feedback, contributing ideas, and taking greater responsibility within their roles and departments. We have seen many general volunteers grow into Team Leaders and Heads of Departments.
